At IFA 2026, the largest consumer electronics exhibition in Europe held in Berlin, China's TermiTech unveiled an advanced robot that can play an electronic piano using both hands. Each hand features 21 degrees of freedom. The creators assert that the TermiPianist is capable of performing over 80% of popular music—simply make a request, and it will deliver the song immediately. Notably, these performances are not based on pre-established routines. The robot's artificial intelligence analyzes each piece of music, determining how to position its mechanical fingers, the speed and range of motion required, and the sequence of key presses necessary for an accurate rendition.
