YouTuber Luke Creatives has engineered an innovative AI soda machine capable of concocting beverages in nearly any flavor imaginable, including some that are entirely fictional. The machine is equipped with 19 foundational flavors, which allow for approximately 524,000 unique combinations. Initially, Luke intended to incorporate 20 base flavors, which would have resulted in over 1 million possible mixes; however, a malfunction in one of the pumps prevented this from happening.
The AI, dubbed Gemini, serves as the machine's central processing unit. It interprets user requests, whether they be for a "pine soda," a drink that embodies "the essence of a summer night," or even a concoction that represents "sadness." It dissects these requests into components, formulates a recipe, and manages the pumps to mix the precise flavor.
For selecting the base flavors, Luke utilized Claude, which also assisted in developing the robot's user interface and creating a dilution table to ensure uniform strength among the various concentrates. The physical structure of the robot is repurposed from an old water filter purchased online, while a Raspberry Pi single-board computer manages its operations. The entire project spanned over eight months.
