Touchscreen Version of Command & Conquer: Generals – Zero Hour Available for iPhone and iPad

Claude Fable 5 has played a significant role in adapting the classic 2003 strategy game, Command & Conquer: Generals – Zero Hour, for iPhone and iPad. Ammar Reshi, who leads product and design at Google AI Studio, shared the source code along with an installation guide for the touchscreen-friendly version tailored for iOS and iPadOS. Much of the coding for this project was accomplished by Claude Fable 5. Although Reshi explored the use of Opus 4.8, it ultimately did not meet the project’s needs. The team utilized open-source elements from the game and modern community adaptations for Linux and macOS. Claude was responsible for writing the C++ code and debugging it directly on the devices. Reshi contributed by testing the builds and documenting issues with comments such as, "the minimap is black" and "I hear chirping." The entire endeavor took just two days and consumed Reshi’s complete Claude Max token allocation. He humorously noted, "Neither half ships this alone: one of us can't write C++, and the other can't hear the chirping." The finalized version is compatible with both iPhone and iPad, but users will need their own copy of the game from Steam to install it. It's worth noting that multiplayer functionality is not available, and prolonged gameplay sessions may lead to crashes due to limited RAM. Are you interested in playing this classic on an iPad?
