In my exploration of a striking first-person video concept, I evaluated four different models from a single service, focusing on pricing and realism, ultimately finding that Seedance 2.0 emerged as the standout option. Utilizing the service allowed me to maintain consistent parameters while testing various video models. I set a challenging initial prompt: a lengthy first-person action sequence featuring a clear height, parachuting, an industrial backdrop, and a muddy landing.
For the cinematic reference, I chose Seedance 2.0, while Kling v3 Pro was selected for its action capabilities and intelligent shot planning. I opted for Veo 3.1 as Google's premium offering and included the more affordable Wan 2.7, which supports 1080p resolution.
The results were revealing. Seedance 2.0 excelled in preserving the immersive helmet-camera perspective, showcasing the hands, parachute lines, and maintaining a coherent narrative flow. My primary criticism was regarding the believability of the landing into the puddle, and it cost around $2.43 for an 8-second clip at 720p.
Kling v3 Pro delivered solid image quality but fell short on the realism of the actions depicted. This model, with audio included, was priced at approximately $1.34 for 8 seconds.
In contrast, Wan 2.7 managed to process the prompt but produced a rather nonsensical video composed of disjointed segments. This 1080p clip also cost about $1.20 for 8 seconds.
Veo 3.1 posed some challenges. The initial submission of the same prompt triggered a content policy violation. After slightly modifying the request, I submitted it again and received a video. However, this version shifted from a first-person to a third-person perspective, yet still looked appealing. This successful 8-second clip at 1080p with audio came to about $3.20.
In total, my successful clips amounted to approximately $8.17 when factoring in the second run with Veo. While Seedance 2.0 was not the least expensive option, it effectively captured the essence of my concept with minimal confusion.
