A recent poll conducted by AP-NORC reveals that a significant 64% of Americans believe that artificial intelligence is advancing at an excessive pace, whereas merely 8% feel it is progressing too slowly. Meanwhile, 27% of participants expressed satisfaction with the current speed of AI advancements. Notably, approximately 80% of those surveyed concur that it is essential for the government to maintain human oversight over AI technologies and to safeguard jobs from potential automation. Additionally, 31% support former President Donald Trump's initiatives aimed at regulating the AI sector. However, a considerable 39% of respondents expressed distrust in both Republican and Democratic parties concerning their ability to effectively govern the industry. Interestingly, one in ten Americans indicated that they would consider using AI to help make their voting decisions in the forthcoming election.
