On the first day of classes, students at Farnsley Middle School in Kentucky were given planners filled with numerous inaccuracies in their reference materials. One family quickly identified a peculiar mistake: a map incorrectly labeled Kentucky as "Venecky." As parents began to investigate further, they uncovered additional errors, including "North Dakhota" instead of North Dakota, "Olkchoma" for Oklahoma, and "Taxas" in place of Texas. An imaginary area named "Beehie" was even marked next to Washington, while Havana was mistakenly situated on Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula.
The periodic table presented magnesium with a bizarre negative atomic mass of −3.08, despite its true atomic mass being approximately 24. The depiction of the Moon's phases was filled with nonsensical symbols, and Mars was incorrectly referred to as "Marc." Many sections of explanatory text resembled a jumble of random words.
Parents speculated that artificial intelligence might have been responsible for producing these materials. Although the school district acknowledged the inaccuracies, they did not confirm if AI was involved in their creation. Following parental complaints, school officials instructed students to remove the erroneous pages from their planners.
