Lotus Health AI, a startup based in San Francisco, has introduced a free AI-powered medical service designed to provide diagnoses and prescriptions directly to users' smartphones. As doctor shortages lead to extended wait times for appointments across the U.S. and other countries, this innovative solution aims to bridge the gap in healthcare access. The AI system has been developed using extensive data from medical research, clinical guidelines, and numerous health records. Users can submit their medical histories, test results, health tracker data, and other pertinent health information via the app. By analyzing the patient's symptoms and overall health, the AI conducts a virtual consultation. Final evaluations are then cross-checked by licensed physicians, including experts from Stanford and Harvard. Following the consultation, users receive a comprehensive treatment plan and, if necessary, prescriptions for medications. For more complicated cases, the service can refer patients to appropriate specialists, and in emergencies, it provides guidance on obtaining immediate care. Recently, the startup secured $35 million in funding and is currently available exclusively in the United States.
