SpaceX Secures $13.3 Billion Annual Contract, Boosting AI Revenue to $41.1 Billion

SpaceX has recently secured a significant contract that will add $13.3 billion to its annual revenue, pushing the company's total income from artificial intelligence infrastructure to an impressive $41.1 billion. This announcement was made by the company's Chief Financial Officer, Bret Johnson, during the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology conference in 2026. The new agreement will take effect in December 2026, generating approximately $1.11 billion each month. While the identity of the client remains undisclosed, Johnson confirmed that the deal involves providing computing infrastructure specifically for AI applications.

This marks the fourth major contract SpaceX has signed for AI computing capabilities in 2026. Notably, the company had previously secured a $1.25 billion per month deal with Anthropic, a $920 million monthly agreement with Google Cloud, and a $150 million per month contract with Reflection AI. Additionally, reports surfaced in July regarding SpaceX's negotiations with the U.S. Department of Defense for a multi-billion dollar computing contract.

As of June 30, 2026, SpaceX operated approximately 1.4 gigawatts of data center capacity, with plans to expand this to over 2 gigawatts by the end of the year and to nearly 10 gigawatts by the end of 2027. The company's infrastructure includes the Colossus 1 and Colossus 2 data centers, with a third facility under construction in Southhaven and a fourth site in development near Memphis.

Initially, xAI, a subsidiary of SpaceX, utilized the Colossus computing power to train its own language model, Grok. Following the agreement with Anthropic, Elon Musk stated that SpaceX is actively seeking new clients for its data centers. What began as a self-serving infrastructure for xAI has now evolved into a substantial revenue stream for SpaceX, with the current contracts alone generating $41.1 billion annually.

This growth highlights SpaceX's increasing influence in the AI infrastructure market, positioning the company as a formidable competitor against established tech giants in the sector.
