Recent research indicates that salaries for analysts in Ukraine have seen uneven changes over the past six months, yet most specialties are earning more than they did a year ago. Notably, the median salaries for Senior Business Analysts and Senior Data Analysts have witnessed significant increases.
Data analysts have experienced more frequent salary reviews compared to other IT professionals, with 38% of them receiving adjustments in the last half year, compared to 33% across the entire IT sector. Among analysts, 37% received a salary review within the last six months, while over half have had one in the past year. However, 13% of analysts who have been with their current employers for over a year reported no salary increase during their tenure.
The median salary for analysts has risen by $25 since December 2025. Leading the pack, Heads of Analytics command the highest median salary at $5,250. There is a noticeable gap between leadership positions and lower-level analysts, with Team Lead Data Analysts earning an average of $3,950 and Senior Analysts earning $3,550. Data Analysts generally earn less than their counterparts in other analytical specialties, although Senior Data Analysts outpace Business Analysts with salaries of $3,550 compared to $3,400.
The lowest median salaries were recorded for Security Analysts at $1,550 and Market Research Specialists at $1,150. In the Data Science/Engineering/ML/AI segment, Heads of AI/Data Science earn the highest at $6,400, while Data Engineers, the largest group among specialists, have a median salary of $3,780. For the first time in this wave of research, the position of Analytics Engineer was introduced, with a median salary of $2,065.
Analysts' salaries continue to fluctuate. Following a winter increase, median salaries for most analytical roles, including BI Analysts, System Analysts, and Product Analysts, have once again declined, but they remain higher than a year ago. Business Analysts are an exception, as their median salary has increased by $63 for the first time since 2024, with Senior Business Analysts seeing a notable increase of $300, bringing their salary to $3,400.
Salaries for Data Analysts have nearly returned to last summer's levels, with Senior Data Analysts experiencing a $350 increase to $3,550. Meanwhile, in the Data Science/Engineering/ML/AI domain, after a winter dip, median salaries have risen by $100 over the past six months to $3,275.
For professionals in Data Science/Engineering/ML/AI with over six years of experience, the median salary stabilizes around $4,500, while those with more than 11 years of experience see this figure rise to $6,102. The most seasoned analysts report a median income of $4,000.
In terms of employment type, analysts employed under the Dія Employment scheme earn the highest median salary of $2,700, compared to $2,600 for individual entrepreneurs (ФЛП) and $2,250 for gig contractors. For Data Science/Engineering/ML/AI specialists, the highest median salary is also found among those under Dія Employment at $5,400, with gig contractors and full-time employees earning around $3,000 each.
Remote analysts have a median salary of $2,500, while those working in hybrid or office settings earn less, with median salaries of $2,000 and $1,632, respectively. For Data Science/Engineering/ML/AI specialists, those working in hybrid arrangements earn more ($3,523) compared to their remote ($3,200) or office counterparts.
Geographically, analysts in Kyiv earn the most, with a median salary of $2,308. In other cities like Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipro, and Lviv, median salaries range from $2,000 to $2,100. For Data Science/Engineering/ML/AI specialists, Kyiv remains the top city with a median salary of $3,800, while Lviv follows at $3,150.
When comparing salaries internationally, analysts abroad have seen increases over the past six months, except for those with 3-5 years of experience. The gap in earnings for experienced analysts (10+ years) has widened, with Ukrainian analysts earning $3,835 compared to $5,400 overseas. For Data Science/Engineering/ML/AI professionals, median salaries abroad have also risen, reaching $7,000 for experienced specialists, while beginners with less than two years of experience have not seen a similar increase.
This data highlights the ongoing competitive landscape for analysts, suggesting that domestic firms may need to reevaluate their compensation strategies to retain talent amidst rising salaries abroad.
