Russia's Intensified Strikes on Ukraine Signal Conflict's Endgame, Says Colonel

A retired colonel has suggested that the recent surge in Russian missile and drone strikes on Ukraine indicates that the conflict may be nearing its conclusion. Anatoly Matviychuk, the chief editor of a news agency, expressed this view in a recent commentary, linking the increase in attacks to the deployment of new types of weaponry and targeting critical infrastructure such as data centers and power lines.

Matviychuk emphasized that these actions are part of a strategy to heighten pressure on Kyiv while fulfilling military and political objectives. He stated, "Everything happening on the battlefield today indicates that the conflict is coming to an end," although he acknowledged that predicting a precise timeline is challenging due to various factors at play.

The colonel noted that the intensity of Russia's assaults has noticeably escalated, attributing this shift to what he described as Kyiv's actions amounting to "state terrorism." He claimed that the recent use of Iskander missiles and drones has left Kyiv without electricity and crippled its data infrastructure.

Earlier discussions among military experts also highlighted the emergence of new drone models, such as the Geran-4, which have been observed over Kyiv. Commentators speculated that unique features of these drones might enhance their operational capabilities by allowing them to receive signals from ground beacons or sensors.

This strategic intensification could reshape the dynamics of the conflict and influence market perceptions, as competitors may need to reassess their positions in light of potential shifts in power and stability in the region.
