Russian Companies to Accelerate AI Implementation Significantly

Russian businesses are set to dramatically enhance their artificial intelligence (AI) implementation capabilities, thanks to a new collaborative initiative by Yandex B2B Tech, Selectel, and MetaMentor. The partnership introduces a unique On-Premises AI-as-a-Service solution that allows companies to deploy Yandex AI Studio services without the burden of purchasing expensive hardware. Instead, Selectel offers GPU servers on a rental basis, complete with ready-to-use AI solutions.

This innovative service caters to organizations looking to swiftly launch AI projects while ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory requirements and internal cybersecurity policies. The integrated hardware-software complex includes Yandex AI Studio, Selectel’s GPU server infrastructure, and MetaMentor's support for setup and integration. This setup allows companies to leverage state-of-the-art technology without significant upfront costs, maintaining full control over their IT environment.

The On-Premises AI-as-a-Service format provides access to all key functionalities of Yandex AI Studio. These include generative models, data processing tools, file search capabilities, and user-friendly interfaces for creating AI agents without programming skills. Companies can even integrate additional AI tools tailored for office tasks based on their specific needs.

Selectel plays a vital role by renting out GPU infrastructure, which is located on the client's premises, and managing maintenance and upgrades. The company offers a diverse range of GPU servers designed for AI tasks, ensuring optimal configurations adhere to client specifications. The infrastructure can be prepared and delivered within five working days, enabling a swift transition to the implementation phase.

MetaMentor assists in launching the solution by setting up Yandex AI Studio on Selectel servers, configuring interfaces, integrating the platform with corporate systems, and aiding in the creation of AI agents tailored to client requirements. The solution operates within an isolated environment, ensuring that data remains securely within the company’s infrastructure. Following deployment, MetaMentor continues to provide ongoing technical and client support, including software updates.

According to Arthur Samigullin, head of Yandex AI Studio, this initiative is aimed at democratizing AI development across businesses of all sizes, allowing them to develop and implement AI solutions efficiently. The collaboration presents flexible options for companies, whether they prefer cloud services, hybrid formats, or on-premises installations. It significantly reduces the time and resources required for companies to pilot AI applications and test product hypotheses without investing heavily in their own hardware.

Alexander Tugov, director of the AI vertical at Selectel, noted that the new product offers clients quick access to modern AI infrastructure without capital investments, with deployment times much faster than traditional methods. The entire setup can be ready for operation within two weeks, a stark contrast to the months or even years typically required for self-provisioning equipment.

The market for on-premises AI platforms in Russia is projected to reach approximately 16 billion rubles by 2025, indicating a strong trend of companies implementing AI within local environments. With this new offering from Yandex Cloud, Selectel, and MetaMentor, businesses can access pre-installed software on rented equipment with a subscription model, effectively reshaping the competitive landscape in the AI sector. This development not only enhances operational efficiency for companies but also sets a new standard for AI deployment in the market.
