OpenAI Launches Powerful GPT-5.6 Model for Enhanced Productivity

OpenAI has officially launched its advanced AI model, GPT-5.6, accessible to all users just two weeks after its initial announcement. This new model excels in various areas including programming, cybersecurity, scientific research, and computer tasks. Users can take advantage of GPT-5.6 Terra, the most balanced option in this new family of models, available to both free users and those subscribed to the Go plan.

For subscribers of Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans, the choice expands to include GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra, and Luna, with customizable complexity levels for each model.

In addition to GPT-5.6, OpenAI has unveiled ChatGPT Work, a direct competitor to Claude Cowork. This innovative AI agent can autonomously generate documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and web applications based on user files. ChatGPT Work is capable of retrieving information from various platforms such as Gmail, Google Drive, Slack, Microsoft 365, Notion, calendars, CRM systems, and even local files and folders.

One of the standout features of ChatGPT Work is its ability to execute long sequences of tasks. For instance, the agent can locate necessary files across different platforms, prepare reports and presentations, and send them via email without human intervention. While all users will gain access to ChatGPT Work, the Ultra version, which can run four AI agents simultaneously for task completion, will be reserved for Pro and Enterprise subscribers.

The introduction of these advanced tools not only enhances productivity but also intensifies competition in the AI market, prompting other companies to innovate rapidly in response.
