Micron Technology has announced substantial annual bonuses for its production employees in Taiwan, with payments ranging from 35 to 68 months of salary. For instance, an entry-level engineer can expect an annual compensation of approximately $108,000, which includes equity benefits. The company currently controls about 25% of the global DRAM market and 15% of the NAND market. In the third quarter of fiscal 2026, Micron reported a remarkable revenue increase of 4.5 times year-over-year, reaching $41.5 billion, while net income surged nearly 15 times to $28.2 billion. This bonus announcement comes during ongoing negotiations with unions, which have threatened to strike and are advocating for a one-time bonus equivalent to about 83 months of salary. Additionally, the unions are pushing for Micron to allocate 15% of its operating profit towards bonuses starting next fiscal year, with a request for these to be paid on a quarterly basis. As of now, no agreement has been finalized regarding these union demands.
