A recent study conducted by a research project focusing on AI relationships has found that many people view interactions with artificial intelligence as a form of cheating. This survey, which gathered responses from over 1,700 adults across the United States, revealed that one-third of participants believe any form of intimate engagement with AI constitutes infidelity. Additionally, about one in six respondents specifically associate unfaithfulness with emotional or sexual connections to a bot. Conversely, one in five individuals does not label such interactions as cheating but expresses discomfort with the idea. Interestingly, both men and women engage with AI in similar numbers. Among the age groups surveyed, 44.7% of Millennials, 31.6% of Generation X, and just 12.5% of Generation Z are open to the idea of having an AI partner. Despite this, nearly two-thirds of those surveyed are firm in their belief that AI cannot substitute for human relationships.
