Clients Demand Unrealistic Cosmetic Surgeries Due to AI Influences

Clients seeking plastic surgery are increasingly turning to artificial intelligence to create images of their "perfect face" before even stepping into a clinic. For women, this ideal often includes flawless skin, prominently defined cheekbones, a refined nose, plump lips, and large eyes. Men tend to envision a strong jawline, lowered eyebrows, and well-defined upper eyelids. Surgeons have noted a concerning trend where women in their 60s and 70s present AI-generated images depicting them as 40 years younger. Medical professionals find themselves in the position of explaining that these beauty standards are fundamentally unrealistic, even with the most intricate and costly surgical procedures. The precision of AI-generated "hypersymmetry" cannot be replicated in surgery. For instance, if there is a slight asymmetry where one eye sits a few millimeters higher than the other, AI can rectify this, but surgical techniques cannot achieve such minute adjustments. "Surgery certainly doesn't work on that microscopic detailed level," states Alex Karidis, a plastic surgeon based in London.
