ChatGPT Enhances Deep Research Mode with Full-Featured Report Display

OpenAI has significantly upgraded the Deep Research mode of its ChatGPT chatbot, introducing a full-screen report viewer. This new feature enables users to scroll through the bot's report content and navigate quickly between different sections. The reports can now be opened in a separate window from the chat, featuring a left-hand table of contents and a right-hand list of sources for easy access.

The Deep Research function, which was launched last year, empowers the AI to analyze information gathered from the internet to create comprehensive reports based on user queries. The latest update allows users to instruct the algorithm to focus on specific websites or connected applications during research. Additionally, users can monitor the algorithm's progress in real-time, adjust the scope of their research, or add new sources while the report is being generated. Once the report is complete, users can download the information in various formats, including DOCX and PDF.

These enhancements are currently available to OpenAI's paid subscribers on Plus and Pro plans, with free users and those on the ChatGPT Go plan expected to receive these new research capabilities soon.

This update positions OpenAI strongly within the AI market, enhancing its competitive edge as it continues to innovate and expand its offerings. Competitors will need to ramp up their own capabilities to keep pace with the advancements in AI-driven research and reporting.
