Apple has officially introduced its highly anticipated foldable device, the iPhone Duo. When folded, the phone features a compact 5.4-inch screen that resembles a passport in terms of aspect ratio, similar to offerings from competitors like Samsung and Xiaomi. Unfolded, the device expands to a larger 7.6-inch display, comparable to an iPad mini. Apple CEO John Ternus emphasized that the iPhone Duo is designed to feel like a cohesive product rather than two separate devices combined.
Key features include: ✅ The iPhone Duo stands out as Apple's slimmest smartphone when fully opened. ✅ It is powered by the A20 Pro chip, identical to that in the iPhone 18 Pro. ✅ The device boasts four cameras: a main Fusion camera, a 48 MP ultra-wide camera from the iPhone 18 Pro, a selfie camera on the small screen, and a hidden "FaceTime camera" beneath the inner display. ✅ For user convenience, controls have been relocated to the right side of the screen when the phone is unfolded, with Touch ID integrated into the lock button. ✅ The battery life is impressive, lasting up to 44 hours when using the outer display and 31 hours when unfolded. Just five minutes of charging can provide up to five hours of video playback on the outer screen. ✅ The device is built to withstand water with an IP68 rating. ✅ It includes features typical of foldables, such as a split-screen mode for multitasking with two apps, the ability to stand "tent-style" without additional support, and instant interface adjustments based on whether the phone is open or closed. ✅ Apple Pencil compatibility for both screens is expected to be available by year-end. ✅ The iPhone Duo will operate exclusively with eSIM, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card.
The iPhone Duo will be available for purchase starting October 23, with the base model featuring 256 GB of storage priced at $1999. Are you ready to invest in a foldable iPhone?
