🤖 Androids have reached the development level of a 10-year-old child, says Unitree founder and CEO Wang Xingxing

He doesn't mean robots are literally smarter than little kids. His point is that androids' "childhood" is over. But turning all this progress into a large-scale deployment will still take time.

"If things go fast, it might take three-five years. If slower, it definitely won't exceed 10 years," predicts Wang Xingxing.

💻 The progress Wang is talking about is easy to spot if you look at the robot performances at the Chinese New Year.

In 2021, the robot dogs were stepping from one foot to the other and jumping. Last year, Unitree H1 humanoids did synchronized backup dancing alongside people. This year, the Unitree G1's acrobatics stole the show—humans literally took a back seat ⤴️

Have robots really reached the level of 10-year-old kids?

❤️ — Yes, already last year
🔥 — No, they're still just toys
🤣 — No, robots are already ahead!
